Transfer files from phone to Mac in three steps
1. Start receiving
Click Start Receiving, or use the menu bar icon. DropBeam shows a QR code.
2. Scan from the phone
Scan it with the phone’s camera. A page opens in the phone’s browser. Android, iPhone, or any device with a browser.
3. Pick your files
They land straight in the folder you chose, at full quality. An access code makes sure only your devices can connect.

Do I need to install anything on my phone?
No. The phone’s browser is enough. Scan the QR code DropBeam shows, pick your files, and they land straight in the folder you chose on your computer. It works from Android and iPhone alike.
Is there a file size limit?
No. Transfers are unlimited, for any file type, with no size cap. You can send a 4 GB video without it being shrunk or split.
Do my files go through the cloud?
No. Files travel directly between your devices over your own Wi-Fi. DropBeam has no servers and no accounts, and it collects no data. When a transfer finishes, your files exist in exactly two places: the phone and your computer.
